2014 Annual Event and Summit

The Infinity Project Annual Summit Meeting and Summit, held in conjunction with the Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference, featured a panel “Father-daughter reflections on gender and the legal profession,” moderated by Dean Marianne Culhane, Creighton Law School.

Panelists included:

  • U. S. District Judge Lyle Strom (pictured left) and his daughter Cassie Strom,who practices in St. Louis, and is the first female Major General in the Judge Advocate Generals Corps in the Air Force
  • U. S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon and his daughter Aimee Bataillon, who practices law in the Omaha area with the firm of Woodke & Gibbons
  • U. S. Circuit Judge Michael Melloy and his daughter Kate Goettel, Senior Litigation Counsel, in the Immigration Litigation Office of the US DOJ-Civil Division
  • U. S. District Judge John Gerrard (formerly Justice on the Nebraska Supreme Court) and his daughter Erin Gerrard Ching, public interest lawyer

The program was co-sponsored by the National Association of Women Judges, University of Nebraska College of Law, The Journal of Gender, Race & Justice at University of Iowa College of Law, Drake Law School, Creighton University School of Law, Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys, Polk County Women Attorneys, Women and the Law Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, Minnesota Chapter.
